Chicken Feeders

Our girls truly love the new feeders we made and took just minutes to learn.  They hold about 20lbs of food each and keeps their feed so clean. These new feeders are great for us, as they provide food to be available for longer periods of time.  Plus, we had to get REALLY CREATIVE to keep our goats from eating it all…LOL!

Big Egg… OUCH!

When our chickens have these BIG EGGS, like the one at the bottom of this picture, it really makes us wonder about the pain and possible issues!  When a woman goes thru child birth they sometimes have to do a C-section when the heads too big to pass.  Sadly, some chickens get something similar what’s called “Egg Bound” and that worries us at times.

We found an interesting article about it over at a site named: “Keeping Chickens Newsletter“.  Here’s the direct link to the article over there and hopefully it can be of help to someone: “Egg Bound Chicken – Symptoms and Treatment“.

This is our silly little goat named Peanut Butter and he loves to ride in the cart.  He’ll jump in the cart when we’re moving the cart around to move things.  So, I have been letting him ride around just for fun now…LOL!  He loves it and we sure love this silly lil boy!

Just a lil cold!

The chickens & goats will not be so thrilled about today’s weather!  So far, all of them have been pretty good, but this is the coldest for them yet. Luckily, they have a nice inside place to hide from it!  Hopefully the chickens won’t go on strike today and not lay any eggs…LOL!

Compost Love

These silly goats sure love our compost pile!  We try to build up a pile, but they like to keep it to themselves.  It doesn’t matter tho, as long as they are happy… we are happy!  Peanut butter and Jelly sure do bring smiles to all our faces, as they skip around our yard with all their happiness & joy!!
